Life is crazy sometimes… Well, all the time really. I’m finding myself on the precipice of some unique opportunities these days. These opportunities arise from meetings with like minds, creative minds and fearless minds.
So I made this major life change to enter real estate. It was a massive departure into a realm that interested me for so long. As I walked this path, I began finding myself learning, improving, and developing new ways to tap into the strengths that I have spent the better part of 20 years mastering. This evolved over time. In my 20’s it was 100% about art and design, then it spread out into controlling the vision and overall outcome, art direction. Over time I began managing people, hiring people, letting people go that could not follow direction no matter how many discussions, written directions or face to face meetings I had. Looking back, I had evolved from an aspiring artist to a man in charge.
During that evolutionary process, I have had the privilege to work with some of the most talented, driven and amazing people. Enter real estate. During the transition from advertising and marketing manager into real estate agent and investor I began building and developing systems to shorten the amount of time I spent on a given task. Real estate is a people business and it’s a lot of phone time, email time, text time, marketing time, negotiating time, contract writing and what have you. It’s a tough business to jump into if you don’t have a plan and it will chew you up and spit you out if you aren’t constantly managing your time. As I mentioned before, I have been putting together systems to do things for me. When I explain this to people or I diagram it out on a white board for them, their mind is blown and they want it. It’s like a new shiny object, except this shiny object is something you can actually use and implement in your business. One day I was masterminding about projects and opportunities with my friend Scott, he stopped me and said, “why don’t you put this in a book? You tell me how you do it and I’ll write it”. Guerrilla Guides was born.
Over the last few months, I have been making videos of my processes for Scott to clearly translate into actionable steps. Yesterday on our call we went from having a killer real estate marketing book to a killer systems book that can be used in any business. It’s like getting shit done on steroids and I was super excited to have it evolve from the real estate community to something actual businesses can use.
